Past Events
We had a very good turn out for our first meeting of the year.
Past dives and events:
Dave and Fred went on a dive trip on the Rocio Del Mar liveabord dive boat to the Revillagigedos Archipelago (Socorro Islands) in December. The islands lie 250 miles south-southwest off the Baja California peninsula's tip. Dave talked about the marine life they saw, oceanic white tips sharks, hammerhead sharks, dolphins, jacks, and manta rays and much more. Links to slide shows of their trip are posted on our photos page.
Eric went up to Fish Creek for the Pearl Harbor Day dive, where Eric won "best find" for his treasure find in the Fish Creek Marina. The dive is sponsored by the Neptune Dive Club. Eric also completed his tri-mix course at Lake Wazee in December.
Dan and Sue talked about there visit to the Duluth Maritime Museum.
Jim spoke briefly on the Polar Bear dip in Port Washington on Jan. 1st.
Upcoming dives and events:

President,Wendy O. Vice president as this years next leaders Hats off! Eric shot the annual club photo now on the web site to commemorate the festivities as this year wraps it up,Thanks to all that made 2011 a success! Brad Out!
Sept - Oct 2011
A few trips up to Fortune Pond during the last couple of months for Jim, Tim, Cameron, Linda, Brad, Eric, Frank and Fred, and some vintage divers from Minnesota.
Some nice videos on the movie theatre page to check out.
Jim did his civic duty as part of the Ozaukee Fire and Rescue to snatch a couple of young lads off of the breakwater in the Port harbor on a particularly nasty
and hellacious day out there. Apparantly they thought it would be a good day for fishing until the monster waves and gale-like winds changed their minds.
Jim and Eric did a dive off the Island City.
Ron and Sue did Sparking Lake north of Minocqua. The water was 59 a little cold. Got through a little thermal . Saw some fish and follow along side of you. (bass). There is a tree in the middle of the lake. Looks like someone built a fish crib. Vis about 15 feet. Thermal was about 30 feet.
Eric did a nice dive on the ER Williams. Nice anchor off the front about a 105 feet. Eric also did some training dive on Fortune Pond.
Ellen did some DM training at Lannon Quarry, which sounds like it has better than 0 viz these days.
Jim announced a new event for May 18th through the 20th 2012 at Fortune Pond - IceWurst 2012! He's organizing a vintage dive even tfor this weekend for
any and all vintage divers from around the world. Diving and grilling are the orders of the weekend, and of course its open to all even if you aren't a
vintage diver but just want to do some dives and see what vintage diving is about. If you haven't seen some of the old school equipment, it's pretty
interesting gear and does have some interesting history behind it. More info about this later as the planning evolves.
The Christmas party is set for December 3rd at the Bach residence. Shore dive at 9AM weather and surf permitting and the festivities start at 12 noon.
Russ will be playing the guitar and Jon Paul Van Harpen and Gary Holbrook may show up for a presentation or to just have fun and swap some stories.
We've got an email circulating for the food and drink potluck, so if you didn't get that email but want to attend, send an email (see contact page) and
we'll respond. Closer to the date we'll send an email around with the directions.
And we've got the Pearl Harbor Day dive coming up on December 4th at Fish Creek, WI up in Door County. This is an annual event organized by the
Neptune Divers from Green Bay (see the Upcoming Events box on their website main page for directions).
It commences at 11 AM and everyone usually tosses a few bucks into the kitty for whoever drags up the most
interesting piece of junk, treasure, boat part, or whatever out of the mud. Very shallow dive in the marina, good way to get your cold weather chops down.
Dan and Susan have a free pool party coming from Diver Dan's in Kenosha for 10 people (part of their extensive winnings from the raffle from Ghost Ships Festival)
and have opened that invite up to interested parties. See the meeting minutes email for a few more details.
Also, Dan and Susan have some winter storage available at their new digs, so if you have a boat or other gear you need to get out of the weather, contact Dan
and work out some arrangements. Dan promises good rates.

The pilot stated that he decided not to change fuel settings since the engine was still running. The pilot stated that while continuing to monitor the fuel status, he noticed that the right fuel tank quantity continued to decrease and the left fuel tank quantity had actually risen. The pilot stated that he continued to monitor the fuel status until the right fuel gauge read empty, at which time the engine quit. The pilot stated that he tried several times to restart the engine with differing fuel selector settings, but was unable to get the engine to run for more than a few seconds. The pilot stated that he had filled the fuel tanks prior to departure. Fuel receipts from the departure airport indicate that the aircraft was fueled with 19.6 gallons of fuel.
