Greetings! If you're a diver, thinking of becoming a diver, interested in diving, or know a diver, read on and feel free to join our merry band of divers and dive buddies.

In our group we have a mix of divers from sport, vintage, rescue, technical, dive shop owner, instructors, and dive masters. We plan all sorts of dives in a range of skills like shore dives, quarry dives, ice dives, and wreck dives as well. All ages are welcome. If you're interested in scuba diving and would like to learn more about us, feel free to come to a meeting, or join us on a outing. Jerry Sabel is our President for 2012. In 2001 Jerry did a Discover Scuba class in the Florida Keys. Then later that year his wife Sue surprised him with scuba diving lessons for Christmas. Jerry enjoys winter trips to warm water diving destinations like the Keys or Cozumel and also enjoy summer dives in local lakes and quarries and Lake Michigan to check out the wrecks and to cool down when ever he can.

Wendy Osborne is our VP for 2012, ready to assist Jerry in any duties and tasks that may crop up from time to time. Her dive bucket list is:

Diving with Seals in UK - check
Diving with the Zebras in US - check
Swimming with the Polar Bears - check
Feeling like an icicle on Long Lake - check
Finally made it to the Walter B. Allen - check
VP of Deep 6 - now checking
Diving anywhere warm - still gotta do that one.

"I started diving in the UK in 1987, did a lot of coastal dives, wrecks and scenic, but then took a short break of 18 years when I got pregnant. I was invited to join the Deep Six three years ago and have had a wonderful time ever since. A great group of people who really do dive for fun. I must admit I prefer looking at the fish than hunks of metal that I do not understand the workings of, but you cannot deny the awe-inspiring sight of descending down that line to see the wreck appearing out of the gloom below. Then I go search for the fish :). I have been made really welcome and received so much help and support and encouragement it's good to be able to give something back and help out. I am looking forward to another fun year with the group."
